Foundation Funds

The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way is an independent, tax exempt public charity that enables people with philanthropic interests to support causes they care about in Fort Dodge, Webster County and North Central Iowa. The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way creates long-term assets and make grants to better our community and improve its quality of life. The Board of Directors is committed to nurturing, protecting, and growing our funds, all with the goal of improving the quality of life in the communities we serve.

The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way develops lasting legacies for community-minded citizens through funds that are designed to support the charitable goals of the donor. From these funds, grants are made in support of a wide-range of charitable causes and non-profit organizations that address a broad scope of current and long-term community needs. The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way offers great value to charitably inclined citizens because it offers flexibility that allows them to respond to their own charitable interests and goals. The Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way accepts charitable gifts of various sizes and types from individuals, local corporations, other foundations and government agencies. It also designs giving plans for donors that provide them with tax advantaged benefits and the opportunity for their gifts to do the most good.

Endowed Funds

The First Covenant Church of Fort Dodge, IA, Endowment Fund
Donor-advised fund established by the heirs of Kenneth B. & Henrietta K. Anderson to assist in meeting the needs of the First Covenant Church of Fort Dodge.

The Community Foundation Scholarship Fund
A fund endowed by an anonymous donor to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Fort Dodge Senior High and St. Edmonds. Scholarships are given to "average" students showing financial need.

The Fort Dodge Firefighters' Fund
A designated-agency fund established to enhance the training, equipment and support needs of the Fort Dodge Fire Department.

The Nola and Jim Humes Fund
A donor-advised fund established by Jim and Nola Humes to benefit the general well-being of Fort Dodge and Webster County.

The John and Margo Daniel Scholarship Fund
A scholarship fund established by John & Margo Daniel to assist graduates of Fort Dodge Senior High intending to pursue a career in pharmacy.

The FDSH Class of 1958 Fund
A scholarship fund established by the Class of 1958 to assist graduates of Fort Dodge Senior High as they pursue a college education.

The FDSH Class of 1968 Fund

The Charles Foughty Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
A scholarship fund established by the family of Charles Foughty to assist graduates of Fort Dodge Senior High.

The Ivan Metzger Memorial Scholarship Fund
A scholarship fund established by numerous individuals and community organizations in the memory of Ivan Metzger. The scholarship will assist graduates of Webster County high schools intending to pursue careers in criminal justice.

The Gilbert and Nancy Stanek Fund
A donor-advised fund established by Gib and Nancy Stanek to fulfill their charitable goals.

The Vincent House Endowment Fund
A designated-agency fund established to support the Vincent House.

The Webster County Endowment Fund
A permanent fund established by the Iowa legislature to improve the quality of life of Webster County residents. Twenty-five percent of .8 percent of state tax revenues from gaming will be added to the fund annually.

The YWCA Endowment Fund
A designated-agency fund established to support the work of the Fort Dodge YWCA.

The Dayton Area Community Fund
An unrestricted community endowment fund established for the purpose of economic and community development as well as improving the quality of life of all citizens, youth and families in the Dayton community.

Duane Touney Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Touney family established an annual scholarship fund for qualified high school graduates of St. Edmond High School, Fort Dodge, Iowa with a career path in a services/humanitarian field.

John and Lin Simpson Fund
A donor-advised fund established by John and Lin Simpson.  John and Lin Simpson provides scholarships annually to local high school graduates that are pursuing a college education with preference given to those going into a health-related field.
