The Fort Dodge Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that enables people with charitable interests to develop lasting legacies through funds that support causes, programs and organizations in their community that they care about, easily and effectively.
As a qualified community foundation serving Fort Dodge, Webster County and Northwest Central Iowa, the Fort Dodge Community Foundation makes grants to a wide range of nonprofit organizations and charitable causes to advance the quality of life of all citizens and to address important community issues, challenges and opportunities.

The Fort Dodge Community Foundation is putting the robust history of our community at our fingertips. This historical website highlights the robust history and rich culture of Fort Dodge and Webster County. Our community is blessed with a dynamic history, vibrant culture, rich traditions and interesting nostalgia. Understanding and appreciating the history of our community is important because it allows us to know our past, understand our present and shape our future. Our history provides us with insight into our communityâs culture, traditions and folklore. It details the progress and growth of our community and how it happened. Celebrating our history helps us gain greater appreciation and respect for the amazing leadership, commitment and sacrifice that early Fort Dodgers made to build and grow our community from its beginnings in 1850 through the decades that followed.
